Understanding that not every business or individual needs a 10 page site in order to present themselves to the virtual world, we humbly present our Web Business Card service. Light on development and concise in design, Web Business Cards consist of one page with all the pertinent information cleanly laid out for your audience. This results in a simple, professional, and fresh solution for putting yourself out on the web, without requiring commitment to a web project that is more ambitious than what you really need.
The entry level for our suite of website packages is the Static Website Package. Primarily, it is aimed at allowing our clients to leverage the strength of our custom static visual design elements, without the increased turn-around time and investment cost of a more complex solution. Rather than using some of the more advanced and powerful dynamic layout options included in our other website packages, a more traditional static layout is utilized. In a static website, a list of services would flow down the site in a static list format…one service right below the next. While this doesn’t provide the engaging user experience and optimized layout options of a dynamic site, we deliver the content with all the style we normally bring to our sites. The result is clean, visually stunning, and lets you get your full message out to the web.
The bread-and-butter of our website solutions, a dynamic website is designed to combine high quality visual design with carefully structured dynamic layouts to maximize screen real-estate. Most of the content on freightvisual.com is designed to show a dynamic website in action. The audience is able to quickly identify the types of content available, and then navigate to their specific area of interest. Add in subtle animations along with vivid visual elements, and the result is a more engaged and memorable user experience. A good dynamic website distinguishes our clients from their competitors by demonstrating a higher level of web presence and sophistication, and can result in a notable return on investment as positive brand association leads to an increased audience. When a website leaves an impression on a user, it’s not uncommon for them to show it to friends and peers. We’ve done it ourselves with other people’s websites over the years. Your site could be next.
Our “Off the Tracks” solution fully breaks away from the standard web layout template, and offers a one-of-a-kind website design and layout, custom fit to your concept. We’ll sit down with your marketing team, discuss your strategy and potential ideas for a fully customized design, and then get back to you with a few sketched out concepts. From there we’ll step into our lab and create a site that matches your vision while also providing a cohesive user experience…all with top notch visual elements and slick functionality. A great solution for clients looking to step out and be different, or for creative types in almost any field!
Our e-commerce solutions provides you with a way to share your gift with the world…whether that includes traditional products, electronic content like books or music, or even something more abstract like consulting services or seminars. If you want to sell it, we can help. Unlike other e-commerce products you might buy “off-the-shelf”, we understand that how you deploy an e-commerce site plays as big a part in the success as the technology itself does. We take pride in working closely with our clients to identify the most important aspects of their business, and then striving for an end solution doesn’t simply accommodate those needs, but truly excels at delivering on them. The front-end website is combined with our back-end Content Management Tool BoxCar to allow easy maintenance of your inventory and orders.
At Freight Visual, we love ideas. We love progress. We love making something where previously there was nothing. We have been known to express that excitement through development…even if it’s your project and not ours. Whether you are looking for a company intranet portal, a customer service or IT tracking system that is more closely integrated into your specific needs than an off-the-shelf solution, or even a social application on Facebook – we’re interested. We also understand that web applications with high levels of dynamic functionality require plenty of due diligence and careful planning. We offer a free consultation session for this solution, designed to fully explore your idea and the requirements it entails. It’s important to us that when we deliver an application, we deliver it on time and surpassing your expectations… and we understand that journey starts well before the first line of the application is ever coded.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and we tend to agree with that sentiment. Our team has a passion for stunning photography, and commands an impressive set of tools for the job…both in terms of hardware as well as on-the-ground experience. This is vital for capturing stunning visuals for events and promotions, and also plays a huge factor in our Web Services. Sections of many sites are dedicated to projects, staff members, or other aspects of your organization. can add value to your site. Including impressive photos of those as visual
Cinematography is photography in motion. If a photo can speak a thousand words then certainly a motion picture can say much more. We have a true passion for motion picture production and the art of cinematography. Whether it’s a short film, documentary, informational video project, music video, or commercial advertisement our goal is the same: to produce a stunning picture and final product that is, like all good art, timeless in nature. Our goal is lofty yes, but with a solid vision, the proper planning, production skills, and general know-how, amazing results are possible. Combined with our web services, video can add an amazing edge to your company’s online presence and increase your foothold on an ever changing market. Combined with your bands music, anything is possible.
Post Production is the final step in creating your motion picture masterpiece. By combining selective coloring and adjustments to the raw files our camera records, we touch up every shot by adding richer color, more clarity, higher definition, sharper contrast, and more overall continuity. Our goal is to retain the natural feel of what the camera records while emphasizing the finer points, all the while insuring that all of the shots maintain a similar “look and feel” so that when they’re edited together nothing stands out from the rest of the piece you’re working on.
Typically we stick to our staple services like design, photography, and cinematography. But when opportunity arises, we love to get involved in projects that break that mold. This might include light painting, projection bombing, massive photo collages, and aerosol art, or whatever we or our sponsor’s brain can come up with. Usually projects of this nature are most useful for setting up live events like art shows and concerts, but creative endeavors of similar vein have been used for anything from political campaigns to guerilla marketing and can be highly effective. If you have and idea, or need help with an idea, we’re an open book and highly interested in whatever you’re trying to accomplish.
We know that image is important, not only in having a strong web and social network presence, but in your printed materials like business cards and promo materials like brochures as well. The process generally starts with logo design. If you are looking for a new logo, we’ll take your existing logo (or a new concept for one), and provide several designs that we think match your image. From there we’ll work with you using iterative process until your logo is powerful and unique to your company’s desired image and culture. With a strong logo to work with, we also provide design services for use in a variety of practical and promotional materials including but not limited to stickers, pamphlets, business cards, t-shirts, office branding, banners, billboards, cd cover art, beer cozies, hats…you probably get the idea. When these services are combined with a customized dynamic website including photo and video content, you can be confident that people will take notice.
As advertising is a complex and time intensive business of it’s own, we do not typically specialize in creating advertising campaigns. We do however love designing ads and helping out when we can! Honestly, we’ve been known to spit out a few tag lines and catch phrases here and there, but in general we stick to what we’re best at. What are we best at? We’re best at helping our customers realize their vision and potential by providing the image related services you need to tackle such a large goal. If you have an idea for an ad you would like to run, we can provide the image for you to run it with. Our photographers, designers, and commercial cinematographers are always interested in the image you are trying to share.
We have several illustrators on staff who posses a bold, unique, and distinctive style. We’ve also managed to build a network of talented regional and national artists for contract work. Our goal is to find the right match for your project. Illustration can add a warm aesthetic appeal to your design that contributes to the strength and flow of a design as a whole. Illustration can be used in online and in printed materials both, and can be created in such a way in which they’re scalable to many times their original size. If you’re searching for a specific style of illustration or have an interesting idea that you would like to explore, Freight Visual can get your project on the right set of tracks.
The first step in our business development and consultation service focuses on automation. Many organizations have been unable to fully leverage technology to automate their business, and are missing key opportunities to reduce the labor costs associated with the common manual tasks completed monthly, weekly, or even daily. That's where we come in. After working with you to identify tasks within your organization that take the most time to process manually, we’ll step into the Freight Lab and manifest the perfect solution for taking your 10 hour task down to a 2 second click of a button. We’ve done it before, and we look forward to doing it for you. We have a track record for creating incredible efficiencies for companies, and we have a blast doing it.
Many businesses today find themselves jumping from one application to another in their day to day life. An employee may use this application for this, and that application for that, and a third or fourth or fifth one after that. Windows applications and web applications and mobile applications. Oh my. We want to help make your business run more efficiently, and a lot of that can happen by integrating your isolated applications and processes into a unified solution. How we accomplish the task will vary depending on your business, so first we’ll diligently work with you to identify key elements of your business structure. From there we may decide to create a web application that takes over several of those processes, or set up automated feeds from one system to another to prevent duplicating manual entry. Where we can’t replace several systems with one distinct application, we’ll connect everything together so that a change over here leads to the same change over there without typing the same thing twice. Life is too short for completing the same task in triplicate when you could accomplish the same…in singlicate.
One of the most important, but also most under-utilized resource available to modern companies is their data. Every action taken, every order processed and email sent leaves a trail of data that is waiting to tell compelling and often shocking stories about your organization. We believe in IBM’s vision of “a smarter planet”, and we’ve noticed that the unifying component of all their products is their data management strategy. We have experience in managing data. We’ve created solutions for automation using simple Excel-based macros and spreadsheets. We’ve used Access database solutions for programs supporting fortune 100 companies when formal IT support wasn’t an option. We’ve also architected and developed Microsoft .NET applications both web and desktop) for solving key business needs. In all of them, a primary component involved pulling data from various ends of the organization and tying them together in a single database structure…and that is where the true value of data can finally be realized. Viewing 10 different systems or 20 different manual reports can be a nightmare, and ultimately may not answer the most pertinent questions you have about your business. Let us help you understand your organization. It starts with your data.

As a founding partner of Freight Visual, Max Lowe strives to apply his artistic talents to produce content that is visually stunning and intuitively designed. He has honed his craft over the years by diving into a wide variety of mediums. Painting skateboard decks, traditional oil on canvas painting, schooling in professional graphic design principles, and most recently as a Tattoo Artist at Cherry Bomb in Martinsburg, WV. This range of artistic focuses gives Max a wider perspective on design and visual media, and allows him to integrate aspects from each school of thought into a creative and cohesive package.
Outside of design for web based projects Max specializes in photo-video projects, and especially loves the chance to do low-light work. Without natural light, his lighting kit becomes a paintbrush allowing him to build the tone and highlights from the ground up. He has also had the opportunity to work with a variety of artists to shoot video projects, including music videos for several professional musicians (feel free to check them out on the Freight Visual vimeo page).
Max leads the Freight creative team, where he lends his artistic capabilities in an unending mission to produce visually stunning products.
After studying graphic design at Bradley Academy for the Visual Arts, Dustin worked for several print shops as well as providing freelance design to ad agencies in the Baltimore metro area over the course of eight years. During that time, he also pursued a number of personal endeavors, such as co-founding 8380 Laboratories (8380labs.com) and The Juniors (a clothing line inspired by a historic fire company).
Since moving on, Dustin has also tried his hand at several careers including selling antique furniture and barbering, before rediscovering his original love for illustration and finding a fit for his style with Freight Visual. In these tough economic times, it's not every day you can find an illustrator that can also provide on-site haircuts in a turn of the century barber chair.
Dustin shares his talent with Freight as part of the Creative team, focusing both on graphic/web design projects as well as illustration using his own unique and impressive style.
A founding Freight Visual partner, Nick brings his general sense of optimism and excitement to the world of web technology. After dabbling with college programs ranging from Engineering to English, Nick graduated with a degree in Chemistry…which unexpectedly led to a career as a business analyst with a well-known and respected global firm. While certainly random, this mix of education and experience from multiple fields helps him to see outside the normal narrow technical scope of projects. Nick strives to combine the explorative nature of science with the practical cause/effect mindset of an analyst, and combines them with an ability to leverage technology as a developer. The result is a well-rounded approach to projects that is able to encompass the full “big picture” for a company or individual, not just the simple scope of the simple task at hand.
To Nick, building applications and website functionality is not a job, but a puzzle to solve. It’s not lines of code on the page, but a problem with an attainable solution. The goal is not to build cool or tricky software without cause, but to find real-world challenges and use technology and innovation to overcome them. For client-facing projects Nick is more prone to ask the question “How can we build a website that helps you reach your goal?” than he is to ask the question “Do you want a photo gallery with that?”
Nick leads the Development team at Freight and oversees all aspects of application/web development, database architecture, and technical solutions.
Freight Visual was conceived in 2010 by founding partners Nick Conner and Max Lowe, with the goal of exploring and challenging both old and new approaches to pairing media and image with technology. Our vision was to create a community of professional artists and developers to support projects both commercial and creative in nature, believing that building a collaborative, creative, and exciting environment would ultimately lead to producing exceptional work. We continually encourage every member of the Freight Visual team to hone their craft in partnership with each other to the ultimate advantage of our clients. We focus on recruiting a diverse team from multiple disciplines, each with a strong command of their area of expertise.
With this structure, we aim to offer front-to-back support to our clients…including not only the design and development required for websites, but the photography and video to enhance sites or document aspects of the business, the copy required to help their message be concise and professional, managing print for promotional materials, and supporting the project in a maintenance capacity after it has launched. We want to build relationships; when you have a new project or idea we want you to know that we are there to support it and deliver a product that you can have confidence in.
We are proud of the group of passionate and energetic individuals that forms the full Freight Visual team, and are excited to see what mountains we can scale and heights we can reach. We are driven to produce the highest quality products and services, to explore new avenues for creative and entrepreneurial endeavors, and to do so while maintaining our culture and ideals. We are always looking for new projects to tackle, and companies or individuals to work with. We hope to talk to you soon.
At Freight Visual we believe that passion applied to art results in an end product that surpasses the norm. We relentlessly battle the status quo and strive for products and interactions that exceed expectation and leave a mark on the world.
We believe there is no need for the war between form and function, and seek to find a harmony between top class design elements and intuitive and powerful functionality.
We believe in a quality product, and obsess over delivering astounding results in everything we do. Mediocrity is our arch-nemesis.
We believe in the power of online presence, and the impact of image on our client’s success. Whether our clients are up-and-coming underdogs in their space or an established player, our goal is the same: to make our clients look every bit as amazing as they are.
We believe that in a world that is increasingly automated by technology solutions, service and the human element are becoming more and more vital. We don’t accept failure as an option when it comes to supporting our clients at every step in the relationship.
We believe in innovation, and never accepting that a better solution isn’t out there; impossible is a word we don’t like to acknowledge. We persist in our mission to maintain tried and true best practices while challenging the paradigm when we have confidence that there is a better way.
We believe that in light of the shifting social and professional environment, it is vital to maintain the highest standards for ethical and human issues. We steadfastly stand by ideals of transparency, open communication, maintaining privacy standards, and upholding commitments.
We believe in promoting ideas, projects, organizations, and individual efforts that are noble in nature, true to cause, and intelligent in design.
